The 8th Asia Pacific Programme for Senior National Security Officers (APPSNO) was held last week in Singapore, organised by the S. Rajarantnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Centre of Excellence for National Security (CENS) and the National Security Coordination Secretariat (NSCS).
From over 28 countries, speakers and delegates converged to talk about this years theme of "the challenge of systemic resilience for national security" and also included presentations from Dr. Campbell McCafferty (Cabinet Office, UK), Prof. Stephen Flynn (North Eastern University, USA), Mr. Peter Ho (Centre for Strategic Futures, Singapore), Prof. Douglas Paton (University of Tasmania, AU), Prof. Eric Stern (Swedish National Defence College, Sweden), Assoc. Prof. Bilveer Singh (CENS, Singapore) and Mr. Steve Brazier (DPMC, New Zealand).
The week long conference gave Steve an opportunity to mingle with some of the world's leading experts and executives in national security, with Steve able to bring his experiences from previously being on the New Zealand Officials Domestic & External Security Committee (ODESC) and National Security System Ensuring Public Safety Cluster.
"APPSNO would be one of the best conferences I have had the privilege to attend. The impressive line up of international speakers mixed with outstanding Singaporean hospitality made for a very memorable event. The networks established will go a long way to developing the activities of UCR3 over the forthcoming years" remarks Steve.
While in Singapore, Steve also met with government agencies and the New Zealand High Commissioner.
