Resilience Network - Centre for Risk, Resilience & Renewal - University of Canterbury - New Zealand

UC Resilience Network

The UC Resilience Network comprises four distinct centres focusing on different aspects of a collective issue, each delivering unique benefits.

  • Better delivery of tomorrow’s earthquake engineering solutions today, through research, training and technology transfer.

  • Preservation of the memories and experiences of a city badly affected by earthquakes and the capability to share those experiences for the benefit of others.

  • Improving understanding of risk, resilience and renewal and to apply this to development of improved strategies for risk reduction, development of resilience and implementation of post-disaster renewal.

  • Utilising cutting edge research in areas such as geospatial technology, robotics, and assistive technology (NZi3).

UC’s vision is to develop “people who are prepared to make a difference / tangata tū, tangata ora”. Our mission is to contribute to society through knowledge in chosen areas of endeavour by promoting a world-class learning environment known for attracting people with the greatest potential to make a difference.
