Motivations

In the early hours of September 4th, 2010, the Canterbury Region experienced the first of a sequence of earthquakes which by late 2014 had numbered in excess of 14,000 recordable events. The greatest devastation and loss of life occurred on Tuesday February 22nd, 2011. Describing the severity of these events to anyone who has not personally experienced the power of a disaster of this magnitude can be difficult. The following documentary goes some way towards understanding.
